My name is Kristin DuBois and I am the person behind Blue Skies Cattery. On the "About Us" page of our website you will learn some of the personal history which led up to the Blue Skies endeavor.
I was born a cat person and spent all my formative years with no less than two cats in the house at all times. During my young adulthood I, unfortunately, was in a situation which did not allow me to share my home with cats. This changed when I married my high school sweetheart and moved back to my home state of Illinois. I immediately began praying that God would send me a feline family member. He answered this prayer with Bailey, a stray, Ragdoll-copycat kitten.
I was so taken with Bailey's personality that I began searching for a purebred Ragdoll cat. My search led me to Bonnie Smith who helped me obtain my two purebred Ragdolls, Sunshine and Jazzmine. More importantly she introduced me to the cats she was breeding, Munchkins and their sister breed, Napoleons!
I loved  Napoleons right away. I loved how friendly and sociable they were! I loved their playful but cuddly personalities! I loved their adoabable faces and cute little legs! I was sold! It did not take long for Elijah, our first purebred Napoleon, to join the family.

Elijah now lives with the Kauffman family in Indiana.

The Blue Skies family (feline & human) are so blessed and grateful to our Lord Jesus Christ. To him we owe everything and give all the glory!
Integrity and Honesty
are extremely important to us! We strive at all times to meet these "Ten Commandments" as laid out in the TICA publication
"Determining the Reputability of a Breeder"

The Ten Commandments of the Reputable Breeder

1. The Reputable Breeder places cats/kittens by contract
2. The Reputable Breeder places cats/kittens with a health guarantee
3. The Reputable Breeder insists and contracts the return of a cat/kitten should the purchaser be unable to keep the cat/kitten.
4. The Reputable Breeder carefully interviews prospective owners and has specific requirements to be met, i.e,; not allowed to roam outdoors, etc.
5. The Reputable Breeder is willing and able to educate the novice. He/she happily answers questions regarding the breed and his/her breeding program.
6. The Reputable Breeder insists on being informed of health, genetic, or behavioral problems the cat/kitten may develop.
7. The Reputable Breeder does not have more cats/kittens than he/she is able to keep clean, healthy and socialized.
8. The Reputable Breeder spends individual time with each of his/her cats/kittens.
9. The Reputable Breeder is concerned with the temperment as well as the health of his/her cats/kittens.
10. The Reputable Breeder makes him/herself available for advice and help to other breeders, and throughout the life of the kittens he/she has placed.
It really only followed that I would want to share this wonderful breed with the world.  Thus Blue Skies Cattery was born.  Since 2006 Blue Skies has been breeding Napoleons exclusively, in order to continue to develop and advance the breed.

Maintaining a personal and individual touch with all our kittens is very important to us. All our cats and kittens are raised underfoot with tons of attention lavished upon them by me, my husband, our children and grandchildren.

We offer kittens in a wide variety of colors. Our goal is to produce healthy kittens with beautiful medium to long length coats that are especially soft. Of course an excellent personality  is extremely important, as well. With each litter we strive to come closer and closer to the "perfect" Napoleon in disposition and physical appearance!
I can't leave the "About Us" page without introducing our non-breeder pet cat, Onyx. She is our "rescue" cat. Onyx was dumped at our vet's office, in the process of having kittens and with impaired vision in her left eye. We just couldn't leave this sweetie  there without a home, so she joined our big, happy family!
Bailey, Sunshine & Jazzmine have all since left this world. Although they are missed terribly there are always new Napoleon kittens to help fill the hole in our hearts left by their passing.
